Artist Statement
My work is not tied to any specific media but to what is appropriate to the ideas that I wish to converse about. I am neither a "Conceptual" artist nor a "Multi Media" artist. I am an artist that practices my art in the spaces in between. Most of my work is interactive, meaning that the work does not function until someone interacts with it.

My creative research is connected with asking questions. Most of those questions are self-referential in their genesis but the answers that are delivered are hopefully more universal. Two viewers can have very different reactions to the same installation. I have many ideas when I execute a piece and I try to make work that is approachable but what is of most important is what a viewer brings away from interacting with an exhibit.

The machine and the idea of functionality also intrigue me. Spectacle is also a central theme in the work. I am trying to address functionality; the way things work, and hope that I am doing this in a way that makes these ideas accessible to a large audience. While my work would be considered installation, there is a definite concern not only with the environment that I create but also with the objects that make up that environment.
