Tower
This piece was inspired by a trip to the Border with Mexico Near McAllen Texas. I noticed a lot of hunting blinds that I assumed were being used by the border patrol to observe the border. I stopped to photograph one of the towers from the road. Within two minutes a Border control agent dove up and informed me that I couldn’t photograph near the border.

The piece includes a “night motion” video of people running through a field that is projected on the wall. When a viewer enters the gallery a spot light is activated, blinds the viewer, and their image replace the images of people running. The impact of surveillance and trends that impact personal freedom should be a concern for all of us.
